چکیده
Gray matter volumetry (i.e., atlas-based volumetry [1, 2]) and morphometry (i.e., voxel-based morphometry (VBM) [3]) using three-dimensional T1-weighted magnetic resonance images (3D-T1WIs) with spatial normalization have been used to estimate local brain volume in normal subjects [4 –7] and in patients (e.g., in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) [8], epilepsy[9], diabetes [10], and panic disorder [11]). In VBM, a brain tissue segmentation process is necessary to divide T1WI into gray matter, white matter, and cerebral spinal fluid images. Because computer analysis is used for VBM, the results are influenced by the quality of these segmented images. Statistical Parametric Mapping (SPM) [12] is the most commonly used method in studies that employ the gray matter segmentation technique. The computation algorithms of SPM (i.e., SPM 99, SPM 2, SPM 5, and SPM 8) have been changed over time. Diffeomorphic Anatomical Registration Through Exponentiated Lie Algebra (DARTEL) has recently attracted atten

Influence of parameter settings in voxel-based morphometry 8. Using DARTEL and region-of-interest on reproducibility in gray matter volumetry.
OBJECTIVES To investigate whether reproducibility of gray matter volumetry is influenced by parameter settings for VBM 8 using Diffeomorphic Anatomical Registration Through Exponentiated Lie Algebra (DARTEL) with region-of-interest (ROI) analyses. METHODS We prepared three-dimensional T1-weighted magnetic resonance images (3D-T1WIs) of 21 healthy subjects. All subjects were imaged with each o...

Introduction: Voxel based morphometry is a type of statistical parametric mapping that can be used to investigate the effect of diseases such as epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease or other agent such as skills on brain structure (white matter, gray matter and cerebrospinal fluid). The aim of this study is evaluate the effectiveness of this method in detection of differen...
متن کاملInfluence of T1-Weighted Signal Intensity on FSL Voxel-Based Morphometry and FreeSurfer Cortical Thickness.
The effect of T1 signal on FSL voxel-based morphometry modulated GM density and FreeSurfer cortical thickness is explored. The techniques rely on different analyses, but both are commonly used to detect spatial changes in GM. Standard pipelines show FSL voxel-based morphometry is sensitive to T1 signal alterations within a physiologic range, and results can appear discordant between FSL voxel-b...

Nebkhas, as one of the Eoelian Landforms in dry and semi-dry areas, have significant influence in controlling aeolian erosion and the environment stability. The main question of this study concerns different morphometry of nebkhas in two neighbor sites in Daranjir playa and the main factors which control these landforms. area special properties, the variety of hydrogeology properties, and the...
متن کاملQuantitative voxel-based analysis of T1-weighted MRI signal intensity
Abnormalities in the brain generally manifest on MRI as changes in shape (morphometry) or changes in the nature of the tissue (signal intensity). Voxel-based statistical analysis approaches are able to objectively detect such changes throughout the brain. For example, Voxel Based Morphometry (VBM) [2] and Voxel Based T2relaxometry (VBR) [3] can detect subtle changes in tissue volume and T2 sign...
